New ‘Ballerina’ Images Tease the Deadly Action
Recently released images provide a closer look at Norman Reedus’ character, Daniel Pine, a mysterious figure whose role remains under wraps. One shot captures him gripping a firearm, ready for action, while another features a tense exchange between de Armas’ Eve Macarro and Ian McShane’s Winston Scott, the powerful owner of the New York Continental Hotel. Fans will also recognize the return of Anjelica Huston as the formidable Director of the Ruska Roma, and the late Lance Reddick, in one of his final performances as Charon, the loyal concierge of the Continental. Additionally, Keanu Reeves makes an appearance, marking his return to the franchise after the high-stakes events of John Wick: Chapter 4.

Known for his decade-long portrayal of Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead, Reedus has shared insights into the demanding physicality of his role. Eve Macarro, portrayed by Ana de Armas, builds upon a character briefly introduced in Parabellum, originally played by Unity Phelan. This time, the narrative shifts its focus to Eve’s relentless pursuit of vengeance for her father’s murder, immersing viewers in the brutal training methods of the Ruska Roma. Directed by Len Wiseman, best known for Underworld and Live Free or Die Hard, the film has undergone additional reshoots to enhance its action sequences.
Future of the John Wick Universe
Originally slated for release in 2023, Ballerina faced a delay, ultimately moving to 2024 following the massive success of John Wick: Chapter 4. As fans eagerly await de Armas’ take on this lethal new assassin, Lionsgate continues expanding the John Wick saga. A fifth John Wick film remains in early development, alongside plans for spin-offs, including a movie centered on Donnie Yen’s Caine and an anime adaptation of the franchise.
