The impressive Hamz Stadium, constructed by entrepreneur Hamis Kiggundu, has made a lasting impression on CAF inspectors as they prepare for the CHAN and AFCON 2027 tournaments.
Following two prior inspections of 2023 and 2024 , the stadium received commendation from the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports during her visit in February 2024.
Meeting strict standards for hosting top-tier football events, the stadium underwent thorough scrutiny by CAF inspectors who evaluated various aspects including playing surface quality, modern floodlights, dressing rooms, spectator seating, media facilities, and amenities like television sets and refreshments.

The inspection also included perimeter areas, parking facilities, washrooms, restaurants, outlets, and access roads.
Ham’s meticulous construction ensured effective water drainage during rainy periods, earning praise from the inspectors.

With the inspection completed, Uganda eagerly anticipates co-hosting CHAN and AFCON 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania, with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni scheduled to commission the stadium soon.
