In a generous move to support the Uganda Cranes as they prepare for their CHAN 2024 tournament opener against Algeria, business tycoon Dr. Hamis Kiggundu has donated Shs 20 million to the team’s camp. The donation, made through the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, is intended to cover essential needs, including water for the players.
Dr. Kiggundu, the CEO of Hamz Group of Companies, has pledged to continue supporting the Uganda Cranes throughout their tournament run. The philanthropist promised to match his initial donation with Shs 20 million for every victory the team secures during the competition.
In a statement, Speaker Anita Among shared the news with the team, expressing gratitude for Kiggundu’s unwavering support. She said, “Dr. Hamis Kiggundu, a friend of the Uganda Cranes, has given us a small token to help the team. He gave Shs 20 million and pledged the same amount for every win.”
