Overnight Russian airstrikes inflicted significant damage across Ukraine, injuring eight people, destroying property, and sparking fires in multiple regions. Ukrainian officials reported that 65 drones were intercepted, while 28 others managed to cause destruction.
In the Kharkiv district, which includes the city of Kharkiv, drone debris damaged several homes, injuring a 62-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man. Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov confirmed that the injured woman required hospitalization.
Additionally, a private business caught fire shortly after midnight due to drone strikes. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov shared on Telegram that emergency services responded promptly to extinguish the blaze engulfing production facilities. Ukraine’s emergency service stated that two individuals, including a child, suffered acute stress reactions. Video footage captured massive flames erupting from what appeared to be an industrial site, though specific details about the facility remain unclear.
The Black Sea port city of Odesa also faced a severe drone attack that damaged residential buildings, vehicles, and other infrastructure. Regional Governor Oleh Kiper reported four injuries, including residents of the city and its surrounding areas.
In the Kyiv region, a drone strike targeted a vintage car museum, destroying nine vehicles and damaging 27 more. Surrounding residential buildings and cars also suffered damage. Despite the extensive destruction, local authorities reported no casualties in the region
In Uman, located in the Cherkasy region, the attacks disrupted power and heating supplies. Mayor Iryna Pletnova noted that local services were working diligently to restore utilities for affected residents.
As of now, Russia has not issued any official comment on the airstrikes. Both Russia and Ukraine have repeatedly denied targeting civilians during the ongoing conflict, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
