Uganda Police are yet to make any significant progress in the search for the killer of Pastor Aloysius’ assistant, Richard Muhumuza.
A lone gunman on January 2, opened fire at the vehicle in which Bugingo and Muhumuza were travelling in Namuwongo, a Kampala suburb before escaping from the crime scene under the cover of darkness.
Muhumuza was later pronounced dead at Mulago Referral Hospital while Bugingo sustained minor injuries.
Police spokesperson SCP Enanga Fred told the media in Kampala on Monday that the law enforcement body’s Shs 20m bounty for information leading to the killer’s arrest is still up for grabs.
“The reward amounts will still be honoured for information that leads to an arrest,” said Enanga.
The public is encouraged to play an active role in providing tips and information to authorities through the designated telephone contact 0741111333 or by reaching the Special Investigations Division at CID Headquarters in person.
Enanga said, “All tips are anonymous, regardless of how they are submitted. We wish to remind the public that callers’ anonymity is guaranteed.”
“The wanted person(s) should be considered armed and dangerous. They should not try to apprehend them by themselves but alert the SID.”
