Uganda Cup: KCCA FC youngsters impress Mike Mutebi

Sadat Anaku scored KCCA’s goal in the 12th minute when he headed in Filbert Obenchan’s cross.

“I am very impressed with the performance of these young lads, it also explains why our U-17 team (KCCA Junior team) continues to do well,” Mutebi said.

The experienced tactician also warnedthe experienced players at the club that their positions were at risk if they don’t raise their performances with the young stars coming through.

“The boys are determined, the age no longer matters. The senior players need to step up or else they lose their position to the youngsters,” he warned

Some of the youngsters Mutebi fielded are Ibrahim Juma and Elvis Mwanje, while Jerome Otim, Pius Ssebulime and Simon Mukisa were unused substitutes.

These stepped in for first team players Julius Poloto, Mustafa Kizza, Charles Lukwago, Samuel Kato and Herbert Achai who are with the national team preparing for the Total Africa Nations championships (CHAN) scheduled for Cameroon early next month.

Others are Mike Mutyaba, John Revita and Muzamir Mutyaba who are down with injuries.
