The body of His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Ssenyomo has been buried in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.
According to a Saturday Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ssenyomo was laid to rest in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, in accordance with his last will.
Ssenyomo who died on Friday was the Assistant Secretary General in Charge of Economic Affairs at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (IOC) secretariat since 2019.
The burial ceremony was attended by members of his family, relatives and friends as well as officials of the Uganda Embassy in Riyadh and IOC staff.
Prior to his last posting, Ssenyomo served as the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Uganda in Riyadh Saudi Arabia from 2009 to 2018.
From 2003 to 2008, he was the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Kampala.
