Protests Erupt as Family Demands Accountability Over Disappearance of Moses Kiweewa in Kigungu
January 29, 2026

Tension rose at Kigungu Police Station today as family members of a missing man stormed the station demanding answers over his disappearance.

Lubulwa Francis, a resident of Kigungu, led the protest after his relative, Moses Kiweewa, went missing on 29 December 2025. According to the family, Kiweewa had earlier alerted them about threatening messages he had been receiving before he disappeared.

An emotional Lubulwa accused the police of negligence, saying they had failed in their duty to protect citizens and their property. He revealed that he experienced a similar incident in 2020 and fears history may be repeating itself.

“I cannot afford to lose another family member,” Lubulwa said angrily. “The police must take responsibility and produce him.”

Residents of Kigungu have also expressed growing fear, noting that this is not the first case of disappearance in the area. Many say they no longer feel safe and are demanding stronger security measures.

In response, police officials assured the community that investigations are ongoing and that they are committed to uncovering the truth behind Kiweewa’s disappearance.

“We will get to the bottom of this matter,” police said in a brief statement.
