Judicial Service Commission receives and responds to Ham’s complaint against Principal Judge in Ham Vs DTB 120bn case

The Judicial Service Commission has received a complaint by businessman Hamis Kiggundu against Principal Judge Dr.Flavia Zeija.

The matter is in regards to the manner that the judge handled the Shs120 billion DTB case.

Judicial Service Commission chairperson, Justice Benjamin Kabiito wrote a November 9, letter to Kiggundu confirming receipt of his complaint.

“We acknowledge receipt of your complaint against the above mentioned judicial officer,” he said.

“The complaint has been forwarded to the Registrar Planning, Research and Inspectorate, Julius Mwebembezi for evaluation.”

JSC Response to Hamis Kiggundu

The Judicial Service Commission was established under Article 146 of the Constitution with a mandate to recruit judicial officers and regulate their conduct.

Hamis complained to the Chief Justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo over the manner in which the case file has been handled by the Principal Judge.

His lawyers said whereas the hearing of the appeal has not taken place, they were later informed the Principal Judge had called for the case file, adding that they have not been served with any official correspondence regarding the matter.
