The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah and the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV have today attended a thanksgiving dua (Shukur) for different Hajjis who returned from Mecca after performing pilgrimage.
The Hajjis who were led by Hajj Zaake Kibedi the Ambassador of Uganda in Abu Dhabi, UAE organized a thanksgiving dua at Buwooya village (Kidhakaba), Buyanga sub county in Bugweri district.
The Hajjis included Busoga Kingdom’s 2nd deputy Prime Minister Owek. Alhajj Osman Ahmed Noor and Hajj Mohammed Nkuutu the President of the Abaise Menhya Clan among others.
The Shukur was also attended by the 1st deputy Prime Minister and Minister of East Africa Community Affairs Rt. Hon. Alitwala Rebecca Kadaga, 3rd deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nakadama Rukia, the second deputy Mufti of Uganda His Eminence Sheikh Muhammad Ali Waiswa, Busoga Kingdom’s 1st deputy Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Muhamadi Lubega Kisambira, Issabalangira of Busoga Samuel Nkuutu Zirabamuzaale Menhya, investors from UAE and Busoga Kingdom Ministers among others.
Prior to Kyabazinga’s speech, Owek. Alhajj Osman, congratulated all the Hajjis in Busoga and the entire country who performed the Islamic pilgrimage (Hajj) to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest City for Muslims.
Owek. Alhajj Osman also welcomed invited guests at the thanksgiving who included visitors from the United Arab Emirates.
In his remarks, the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV, commended Hajj Zaake, Owek. Alhajj Osman, Hajj Mohammed Nkuutu and other Muslims in and out of Busoga for fulfilling the fifth and final pillar of Islam.
The Kyabazinga also thanked Muslim leaders who fundraised and paid for travel expenses for various Muslims who went to Mecca and came back safely.
Prime Minister Rt. Hon Nabbanja Robinah, who represented the President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, at the ceremony, assured the people of Bugweri of the government’s commitment to serve them to improve their livelihood.
Nabbanja revealed that the government ordered for road equipment which will be distributed to various districts with Bugweri inclusive and promised to write to the President about the Bugweri district chairperson’s request of upgrading Busesa Health Centre IV to a district general hospital.
She handed over cash in an envelope from President Yoweri Museveni to Hajj Zaake and further promised to donate iron sheets for roofing of a Church.
She revealed that sh400m was included in the budget of this financial year for the construction of Bugweri district headquarter administration block.
Hajj Zaake revealed to Nabbanja that they established the Bamenha SACCO, which is fully registered and with an aim of reducing poverty.
Hajj Zaake later introduced investors from the United Arab Emirates to Nabbanja.
