Kampala authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the events that led to the hospitalization of approximately 150 students from Nakanyonyi Senior Secondary School in Nagalama, Mukono District. The students fell ill due to suspected food poisoning, prompting their immediate evacuation to a nearby hospital.
As the investigation unfolds, the police are working diligently to ascertain the root cause of the suspected food poisoning incident. To aid in their efforts, samples of the food consumed by the affected students have been carefully collected and sent to the Government Analytical Laboratory in Kampala for thorough testing.
Luke Owoyesigyire, the deputy spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and they are committed to discovering the source of the contamination to prevent any further health risks.
