A 63-year-old Kenyan-British data migration consultant, Malkit Rooprai, has spent six months driving from the United Kingdom to Uganda in a Toyota Land Cruiser Invincible bearing UK number plates.
Rooprai passed through over 30 countries, including Angola, Gambia, Senegal, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, among others.
Upon arriving in Uganda, he visited several places, including Bwindi National Park, Jinja City, Kakira Sugar Limited, and Sipi Falls. Rooprai stated that he undertook the adventure to discover what others have not tried before.
His car was equipped with satellite equipment for easy communication and to allow his family to track his journey’s progress.
While driving, Rooprai encountered some challenges, particularly in countries like the DRC and Rwanda where driving a right-hand vehicle was difficult.
