An incident unfolded at the City Oil Petrol Station along Martin Road in Old Kampala, as a private security guard shot and injured a boda boda cyclist. The incident occurred when an argument escalated between the security guard, employed by SGA Security Company, and a taxi conductor.
According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began after the taxi conductor punched the guard in the face for preventing him and the driver from parking at the petrol station. In response, the guard, in a rash act, aimed his firearm to shoot at the car’s tire. However, the taxi swiftly departed, and tragically, the stray bullet struck an innocent boda boda cyclist who happened to be parked nearby.
The victim, identified as Okullu Deo, was promptly transported to Mulago Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the security guard involved in the incident has been arrested and is currently held at the Old Kampala police station.
