By the time the schools closed in March, the first term had not ended.
However, according to the new calendar released by the Ministry of Education and Sports Permanent Secretary, Alex Kakooza, primary, secondary and technical schools plus community polytechnics will start the second term on Monday October,15,2020 and the same will end on Friday December,18,2020 whereas the third term will commence on January,11, 2021 up to Friday,30, April, 2021.
“Holidays for the second term will run from Saturday December,19,2020 to Sunday January, 10 2021,” the new calendar reads.
According to the new school calendar, final national examinations including Primary Leaving Examinations, Uganda Certificate of Education and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education will be done between March, 1 and May,2021.
“Registration for PLE, UCE and UACE will be done between October 22 and November 20 , 2020 whereas briefing of UCE candidates will be done on February,26,2021.
