The Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium in East Africa is undergoing a major redevelopment project to transform it into a state-of-the-art sports facility, including a 40,000-seat football stadium that will also accommodate other sports activities like athletics, basketball, netball, and volleyball.
The project, which has been visited by FIFA officials to ensure compliance with international construction procedures, has now reached a major milestone with the completion of the exterior façade and drainage works, according to Hamis Kiggundu, a young billionaire taking lead in the project.

The stadium will also feature VIP and VVIP sections, executive wings, and a range of amenities such as medical rooms, referee rooms, six restaurants, two cinema halls, and parking for over 1,000 cars.

The project has been delayed by COVID-19 but upon completion, it is expected to cost $200 million and will serve as a legacy to develop the sports industry in Uganda.
